Snow Picket

Its strength-to-weight ratio is unmatched, and every design decision is deliberate — from the modified I web depth that maximises holding power while staying compact enough to handle and pack easily, to the precision-tapered sharp end that drives cleanly into hard snow and ice. The natural aluminium finish is left intentionally uncoated, gripping more securely in vertical placements than powder-coated or anodised alternatives. Bevelled clip-in hole edges protect ropes and webbing, and the hole spacing is optimised for maximum holding power across a range of snow conditions and configurations, including deadman placements.

TO USE: In hard-packed snow or ice, drive the pointed end in as a stake, angled approximately 15° back from the direction of pull. Clip a carabiner into the hole closest to the snow surface. In softer or warming snow, bury horizontally as a deadman, perpendicular to the direction of pull, clipping into the centre hole with the runner running as directly as possible toward the load. Accurate assessment of snow conditions — and how they may change through the day — is critical to correct placement.
