Head protection on the water doesn't have to mean heavy, hot, or uncomfortable, and the WRSI Current Helmet proves that safety and all-day wearability can coexist in the same lid.
Developed by the Whitewater Research and Safety Institute, the Current is built on a multi-impact ABS plastic shell with a polyurethane sub-shell and EVA foam liner that works together to effectively dissipate impacts across repeated hits. A plush, breathable liner compresses and conforms to your head for a secure, comfortable fit, and it removes easily for drying, washing, or replacement when needed. Three ventilation and drain holes keep airflow moving and clear water quickly after a swim, making the Current noticeably more comfortable to wear on warm days than a non-vented helmet.
The Interconnect Retention System is the standout safety feature, self-adjusting to hold the helmet firmly in place as hydraulic forces push against it in moving water. Combined with the adjustable O-Brace Harness that conforms to the back of the head, the Current stays where it's supposed to even in dynamic conditions. At 1.45 lbs in size M/L, it's light enough to forget you're wearing it between the put-in and the takeout. CE EN 1385 certified.
