MoMA Exclusive: An everyday chair that doubles as a sculpture, the playful and colorful Wasted Chair is handcrafted from 100% recycled post-consumer, ocean-bound plastic derived from 833 bottle caps, gallon caps and toothpaste tubes. Each piece of plastic waste reflects the brand’s material-led approach, with discarded plastic becoming the foundation of the design rather than an afterthought. Produced in colors exclusive to our customers, the Wasted Chair is made using various waste streams as the foundation of the design. (A waste stream is the entire journey of discarded materials, from consumer to collection, sorting, processing and landfill.) Designed by Max Lamb, the Wasted Chair starts as a flat recycled plastic sheet that is then precision-cut and shaped into the pieces that make up the chair. The Wasted Chair comes flat-packed (easy assembly required) and measures 30.4h x 15w x 20.5"d.
