These Volkl Women’s Pro Shell ski pants are ultra-technical, super high quality shell pants that are perfect for adventurous women who want a lightweight pant that provides top notch protection from the elements. The main fabric of these pants is Dermizax EV, a completely waterproof fabric that’s also exceptionally breathable. It boasts 20,000 mm waterproofing and 20,000 g/m2 breathability ratings, which has essentially become the standard for top of the line outerwear. Unlike some other brands, however, these pants are significantly less expensive than competitors that use similar fabrics. Everything about these pants is super technical. Just about all of the zippers are completely waterproof, including the full length side leg zips. Having full length side leg openings without mesh is great for backcountry enthusiasts as it allows you to access your gear underneath quickly and easily and also allows you to quickly expel any excess heat from hiking or skinning. There is a removable extended waist gaiter designed to help keep powder on the outside of your outerwear where it belongs, not down you pants.
