Tortoise - Red Foot

Red foot tortoises get to be about 11-14 inches in length over the span of about ten years. With their growth slowing down after they turn ten. Full grown tortoises should be kept in 6 ft x 4 ft enclosures. These cute reptiles can live well over fifty years in captivity, so a lot of thought should be put into them before buying, as they are a life time commitment. Tortoises can tolerate a wide range of temperature, but if kept indoors they would have a basking area of 95-100F and a cool side that reaches around 75F but they can tolerate cooler temperatures down to 45-50F. Humidity should be around 60-70% and a humid hide should be provided. A UVB bulb should be provided indoors as well to allow your tortoise to properly absorb calcium.
