Most of their technology, culture and history burned down in the horrific Great Impact – an extinction-level event that culminated from rampant gene editing of the entire human race. The survivors formed the Genome Accord and created a special police unit named 'Bellwatch' to enforce it, but the course of human evolution had already been changed.With the technology of gene editing lost, humanity now lives with the modified genes they adopted. Each person is born with a special genotype now, some with apparent advantages like night vision, near-armored skin or control over chemical elements that some consider on par with magic. Others are born with more subtle traits, that seem to provide little other than visual aesthetic. Officer Lisa Brown is one of such people, her black wings incapable of achieving flight. As team leader of a Bellwatch unit, she must rely on superior tactics and unit cohesion to achieve her objectives.The current year is 2035, post Impact, when her team responds to a hostage situation inside a restaurant. The suspect is an injured young man, erratic and armed. At first glance, he seems to be suffering from a psychotic episode, likely induced by substance abuse, but the small inconsistencies in the crime scene hint there’s something worse going on. Lisa's persistence to save him and discover the cause of his breakdown, lead her to stumble into a callous conspiracy, that may culminate in another Great Impact.A decorated officer who works by the book and treats her teammates as family, the case begins to erode her, as Lisa becomes forced to investigate those, she cares about most.
