The Fork LIck Parables

At the beginning of The Civil War, residents of the hill country in Western Virginia were caught between Secession and Statehood. Hoping in their heart of hearts that the War would not disrupt their livelihoods, they found themselves quickly having to choose sides. Slavery or Abolition. Confederate or Union. The townspeople of Fork Lick stared down the barrels of cannons to battle their own crises of Faith and Morality when unexpectedly a runaway slave sought refuge from bounty hunters on his way to Freedom via The Underground Railroad.
