The Specialized STATUS 2 bike finds the boundaries of mountain biking and pushes past them. It's a trail bike, a park bike, and even perfect for cruising to the convenience store before stopping for a stealth session on a concrete wall ride. The STATUS 2 is designed to be ridden wherever and however desired, whether on trails, at the bike park, in the streets, or just carving turns with friends on a local hill.

Each build starts with a super strong M5 alloy chassis and tough alloy wheels, complemented by stout suspension and powerful brakes. Popular drivetrain options ensure the bike can handle big hits, pedal smoothly, and provide exceptional stopping power. This bike is meant for riders who push the boundaries of progression, coming back for more after every ride. 

Before arriving at the doorstep or local bike shop, each STATUS 2 receives a special shock tune from the Specialized Ride Dynamics team, a group dedicated to mountain bike suspension. This tuning enhances the shock characteristics to perfectly complement the new STATUS 2's kinematics. 

Each model of the STATUS 2 features neatly packaged flip chips located on the Horst pivot link, close to the rear axle. These allow for fine-tuning of the frame’s geometry according to the rider’s preferences or terrain. Bikes ship in the high position but can be flipped to achieve a lower bottom bracket and a slacker head tube angle, offering an 8 mm drop and half a degree slacker angle for personalized performance.
