SeaGel

Seachem SeaGel is a blend of MatrixCarbon and PhosGuard. MatrixCarbon is an ultra-capacity carbon for the removal of organic and color impurities. Seachem PhosGuard is a powerful remover of phosphate, silicate, toxic metals, and acids. Both components are bead shaped for optimum water flow characteristics and penetration. The components enhance each other and are ideal for reef and marine use. Seachem SeaGel may also be used in freshwater that is not phosphate buffered.

Although MatrixCarbon has the lowest detectable leachable phosphate content of all major carbon brands tested, some phosphate is still released. Adding PhosGuard to the mix compensates for this. Both components are bead shaped for optimum water flow characteristics and penetration. The components of SeaGel enhance each other and are ideal for reef and marine use.

MatrixCarbon:
Seachem MatrixCarbon is a truly unique activated carbon. It is formed as a spherical bead for optimum hydrodynamics, and will not pack. It permits maximum water flow and contact with its high density of macroporous binding sites. MatrixCarbon has a very low ash content as indicated by its minimal impact on pH. Even when added to distilled water it does not raise pH above 7.0. Seachem MatrixCarbon outperforms other high grade carbons by at least two-fold when compared for total capacity to remove aquarium organic matter, rate of adsorption and duration of use.

PhosGuard:
Seachem PhosGuard rapidly removes phosphate and silicate from marine and freshwater aquariums. It is not recommended for phosphate buffered freshwater. PhosGuard is highly porous for high capacity and bead-shaped for optimum water flow.

Directions:
Use 250ml for each 150–225L. Use in a filter bag such as Seachem’s The Bag. Rinse in freshwater before use. Use with caution, since product will fizz and heat on initial wetting. Seachem SeaGel will function for 3–4 months.
