PTFE Tape is incredibly useful for a wide range of plumbing and pipework jobs.
The two main qualities of PTFE Tape are that it is very low friction material making it perfect for use on threaded pipe fittings for tightening and sealing and also that it is water repellent.
Thanks to the low friction nature of PTFE Tape it is often used to lubricate threaded pipe joints. A layer of PTFE Tape wrapped around the threads of a joint can make it much easier to screw more tightly together, and to uncouple the parts further down the line.
