Description: The Pinos Hawkfish is known by its white body with tan, light-brown vertical stripes and red freckles on its face. This fish will also exhibit red marks on its dorsal fin along with black patches on the peduncle, caudal fin region. This fish hails from the Caribbean and is perfect for beginner aquarists. The Pinos Hawkfish is very hardy and will accept all prepared foods. They have a great personality. This fish lacks a swim bladder, and will be seen "perching" on rock work and the sand bed. This fish is reef safe, but exercise caution when mixing with crustaceans. Any crustaceans in the tank should be bigger than the Pinos Hawk's mouth, or it could end up as a snack. This fish will appreciate plenty of rockwork and varied diet of meaty foods. Do not mix with similar hawkfish in smaller aquaria! (ex: Flame or Falco Hawkfish)
