Nain La Kelim Rug

These carpets are made in the Khorasan Province. The design comes from the Nain Province in central Iran, near the Dasht-e Kavir salt desert. Nain are known for their white/beige and light blue/dark blue color scheme. The pile is a blend of wool and mercerized cotton, which is soft with a beautiful luster. The intricate designs are based on miniature paintings and decorations. Dominant motifs are arabesques, vines, blossoms, leaves, and medallions.
