MOS UpLift

Getting a kayak, canoe, or bike onto a roof rack solo is one of those tasks that ranges from awkward to genuinely risky depending on your height, your vehicle, and what you're lifting.

The MOS UpLift is a gas spring-assisted roof rack system that lowers your gear 61 cm to the side of your vehicle, letting you load from a comfortable height rather than hoisting everything overhead. The assistance is meaningful: a 60 lb load feels like 17 lbs, and an 80 lb load feels closer to 42 lbs. For paddlers loading kayaks or canoes solo, that difference is significant, both for the effort involved and for reducing the risk of dropping a boat or straining your back at the put-in.

Built from powder-coated aluminium, stainless steel, and nylon in a clean matte black finish, the UpLift is compatible with round, square, oval, and most factory and aftermarket crossbars with a spread of 20 to 39 inches. It handles a load capacity of up to 125 lbs and works with a wide range of accessories including kayak racks, bike racks, ski racks, and roof boxes. Two units can be installed simultaneously, one on each side of the vehicle, and the system carries a two-year warranty.
