The Lutron Maestro RA2 Select 8 Amp Pro LED Dimmer Switch, or the RRD-PRO - what we call it, is the perfect answer for those looking to control their lights via a switch but also want to have app control via the Lutron app. You can also pair other Picos to the RRD-PRO to gain control of the lights from across the room without having to run wires. It couldn't be any simpler.
For app control, you will need the RA2 Select Main Repeater Hub. The Lutron App is super intuitive, so the setup will go by quickly. The RRD-PRO uses standard Triac dimming and will not work with 0-10V dimming fixtures. This includes the Cree LS Fixtures that we use in the garage (you need to use a Pico and PowPak for these). You would use this switch with the Cree CR6T lights or the DMF DRD2s spec'd with Triac dimming. This switch is rated for 250 Watts or 8 Amps. So you can control multiple lights with this one switch. You can think of this as a light's own PowPak and switch combined.
