The adhesive is in a grid pattern with unconnected dots. Unlike a complete film adhesive that is a continuous layer which comes off goopy, the 'dots' release from the backer individually. This allows for more thorough coverage and a cleaner transfer with limited applied pressure. Silicone paper backer is removed leaving only adhesive on the work piece, creating a 'double sided' adhesive used to stick two pieces of material together. Itty-Bitty dots also allow for more breathability.
