In my memoir: I Choose Me, I explore the various myths women have been told sincechildhood about sex, marriage, abortion, love, and children. The story presents the notion towomen, “What if you choose yourself?” Women are told to wait to be asked for marriage.Society tells wives to eat last and feed their husbands first. Our mothers teach us that a goodmother puts her children before herself, but what if you put yourself first? Are you a bad person,mother, and wife? After years of abuse, and sacrifice I realized that I am as equally important asany member in my household. I saw me in my two-year-old daughter. I saw 22 years into the future.
