ProRep Hemp Bedding is a soft, fibrous substrate that is suitable for many species of snakes and tortoises as well as for small mammals. A 100% natural substrate, Hemp Bedding is made from the dried chopped stem of the hemp plant to form a highly absorbent, dust free and odourless material.
The resulting bedding can be used for many species but is particularly suitable for those that like a dry soft substrate, especially snakes. It is also popular with many tortoise and mammal keepers. Being a natural material it is non toxic if eaten. Hemp Bedding should be used dry. It will absorb water spillages and animal waste allowing effective spot cleaning, but if kept wet will mould and rot over time.
Directions:
Spread the substrate evenly over the bottom of the enclosure to a depth of at least 1-2” (2.5-5cm). Spot-clean daily and completely replace every two or three weeks, or more frequently if it becomes heavily soiled or wet. If you are using an under-tank heatmat as your heat source do not use a thick layer of Hemp Bedding as this may cause the heatmat to overheat.
