  • Essential for a healthy aquarium
  • Accurate in both fresh and salt water
  • Liquid kit contains 150 tests

Excess phosphate from fish waste and uneaten food can lead to unsightly algae growth, whereas too little phosphate can cause nutrient deficiencies and melting in aquarium plants. With the Fritz Phosphate Test Kit, you can measure to see if you have the right amount. Each liquid test kit contains up to 150 tests and can be used in both fresh and salt water.

1. To remove childproof safety cap, push down while turning.
2. Fill a clean test tube with 5 ml of water to be tested (to the line on the tube).
3. Add 6 drops from Phosphate Test Solution Bottle #1, holding dropper bottle upside down in a completely vertical position to ensure uniformity of drops added to the water sample.
4. Cap the test tube and gently shake several times to mix solution. Always use the cap. Avoid skin contact as this may affect the test results.
5. Add 6 drops from Phosphate Test Solution Bottle #2, holding dropper bottle upside down in a completely vertical position to ensure uniformity of drops to the water sample.
6. Cap the test tube and shake for one 5 seconds.
7. Wait three minutes for the color to develop.
8. Read the test results by matching the color of the solution against those on the Phosphate Test Color Chart.

To increase phosphate, use Easy Green all-in-one fertilizer or feed fish foods that are high in phosphate.

To decrease phosphate, perform partial water changes and/or use phosphate-absorbing filter media pads.
