Grip X2 -

The FOX GRIP X2 Damper is FOX’s top-tier gravity-focused suspension damper, designed for aggressive trail, enduro, and downhill riding. Introduced as the successor to the GRIP2, it features independent high- and low-speed compression and rebound adjustments, giving riders a high level of tuning control for traction, support, and comfort.

A major update is the larger 24mm base valve and expanded shim stack, which improve oil flow and damping consistency under hard impacts. FOX also redesigned the pressure-balancing system to reduce lag and improve responsiveness, helping the fork feel more predictable at speed and under repeated hits.

Grip X -

The FOX GRIP X Damper is FOX’s trail and all-mountain focused suspension damper, positioned between the gravity-oriented GRIP X2 and the lightweight GRIP SL. It’s designed to balance descending performance with lower weight and simpler setup, making it ideal for riders who want strong trail capability without the complexity of a full downhill-style damper.

The damper uses the same 24mm base valve found in the GRIP X2 to improve oil flow and small-bump sensitivity, but simplifies the adjustment layout with high-speed compression, low-speed compression, and low-speed rebound controls. FOX also included an easy-access firm mode for climbing efficiency on earlier versions.

Compared to the GRIP X2, the GRIP X is lighter, easier to tune, and aimed more at everyday trail riders than racers. It’s commonly spec’d on FOX 34 and 36 forks, where it delivers a supportive, controlled ride with good traction and reduced rider fatigue on long rides.
