Cressida designed this lamp specially to go with the 'Trees' 14" lampshade. It contains abstracted elements from all the different trees to make a pleasing all-over pattern. It is named 'Daphne' after the beautiful nymph who was turned into a laurel tree after rebuffing the advances of Apollo.
These unique lamp bases are designed to go with her selection of lampshades. They are made of turned elm and produced especially for them in Sussex. Cressida paints each one by hand which means no two are ever the same – though perfection is her aim. They are all bear her painted signature near to the base.
After painting they receive a protective semi-matt varnish and are fitted with a brass switched bayonet cap lampholder and a classic linen-covered stripey cream & black flex.
