A set of African American Christmas ornaments fashioned in the shape of a Nutcracker. These nutcrackers have a Chef theme and are clothed in a red and white uniform complete with Chef hat. One ornament has a gingerbread cookie in his hand and the other has a Christmas Tree sugar cookie in his hand.
The ornaments measure approximately 6 inches in size and are crafted out of wood and Mica paint. Mica paint is pearlized paint that creates a multicoloured effect. The ribbon it hangs from is red and white and inspired by peppermint candy.
Historically, Nutcrackers were symbols of good luck and their soldier shape were meant to frighten away malevolent spirits. This is what gave them their reputation as protectors of the home.
