Cat & the Cosmic Campfire

Took your sweet time getting here, didn’t you? Well, come on, grab a drink, and sit down. Many stories will be told tonight around the campfire. Monsters, mayhem, and Mexicans abound. Without giving anything away, let’s just say these are some tragic, horrific, and, if you’re sick, quite humorous stories. There’s also romance, friendship, and perseverance through coming-of-age hardships. But that’s not what you’re here for, huh? You want that B-movie gallons of blood violence? Well, don’t worry baby birds, your bellies will be full before the night is over. This ain’t some A24 film, these monsters aren’t a thematic allegory to grief, abuse, or generational trauma. These creature features are very much the dumb fun you used to have as a kid, secretly watching those movies your parents told you not to because they were afraid your mind would get snared by the devil and have nightly orgies and blood sacrifices. While in reality, you and your cousins are laughing and commenting on the dumb decisions the horny teenagers make and making guesses with each other over whether the death scenes will happen before or after the gratuitous sex scene. If you’re patient, you’ll soon realize the rubber band will snap, don’t say you weren’t warned, and don’t get attached to anyone, especially not in CAT AND THE COSMIC CAMPFIRE. Read more
