Cape Parrots are a member of the genus Poicephalus and they are native to Africa. They are absolutely gorgeous. Females will maintain an orange head as they mature, males will molt into a beautiful silver head. They are slightly smaller than a Congo African Grey, and they make outstanding companions. They are funny, outgoing, and curious. They have the potential of becoming great talkers if you work with them. They are not known to be as emotionally demanding as some other species, but still require lots of time and commitment. Ideally, the minimum cage size for this bird would be 30" long, 22" wide, 63" high with 3/4" wire spacing.
