Bolbitis Difformis ‘Mini’

Bolbitis Difformis ‘Mini' is a small-leafed aquarium fern. This variation is slow growing, but its foliage is delicate and naturally bushy, making it a solid pick if you're looking for a plant to fill in your aquascape's empty spaces. Mini Bolbitis is also an epiphyte and can be attached to driftwood or gently wedged into gaps between the hardscape. New growth is an interesting view as it sprouts in the form of fiddle leaf heads from its rhizome.

While Mini Bolbitis can be grown in an aquarium, it takes a very long time to adapt and grow well. We find it's much happier in marginal conditions where its roots remain close to the water source, but its leaves remains above surface. Similar to terrestrial ferns, Baby Leaf Bolbitis will appreciate good humidity and filtered light. If you have a paludarium or emersed section in your aquascape, try this aquatic fern out. It will provide beautiful texture and color to your planted setup in exchange for low effort.
