The Java Bent Shaft brings the same head-turning craftsmanship as the straight shaft Java, with geometry tuned for paddlers who want more out of every stroke.

The pinstriped basswood and roasted basswood blade is hand-crafted in Osceola, Wisconsin, and it's the kind of woodwork that draws compliments at the put-in. But the Java 11 earns its place in your hands through performance as much as looks. The 11-degree bent shaft improves forward stroke efficiency by keeping the blade in its power phase longer, reducing the fatigue that builds up on big lake crossings or long flatwater days. The solid ovalized basswood shaft is comfortable and warm in hand, and the classic palm grip gives you a natural, relaxed hold throughout the stroke.

The blade is wrapped in 2 oz. fibreglass and finished with full Rockgard edge protection, so the craftsmanship holds up through the real-world wear of paddling Canadian lakes and rivers. At 19 oz., it sits in a comfortable weight range for a wood bent shaft canoe paddle, though natural variation in wood density means individual paddles may vary slightly.
