Barsnout Cleaner Goby

Elacatinus illecebrosus - The Barsnout Cleaner Goby is a rare and striking Caribbean cleaner goby known for its bold pattern and active personality. Like other members of the genus Elacatinus, Barsnout Gobies establish cleaning stations on the reef where larger fish visit to have parasites and dead tissue removed.

Despite their small size, these gobies are highly visible in the aquarium and spend much of their day perched in the open, interacting with tankmates and darting out to feed. Their peaceful temperament makes them excellent additions to nano reefs, Caribbean biotope aquariums, and larger community reef systems.

Captive bred Barsnout Gobies readily accept prepared foods, including pellets, frozen foods, and other aquarium diets. Aquacultured specimens are hardy, aquarium adapted, and help reduce collection pressure on wild reef populations.
