The 2022 Atomic Strive 16 MN is a lightweight, freeride-focused binding built for skiers who want full performance in a lower-profile, modern package. Combining a wide platform, low stack height, and MultiNorm compatibility, it’s designed to deliver power, precision, and versatility whether you're lapping sidecountry lines or charging inbounds.

Why we like it:

It takes everything we liked about burly alpine bindings and trims the fat. The Strive 16 MN has a low ride height for improved snow feel and a streamlined build that still packs plenty of punch for hard-charging skiers.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers who prioritize powerful downhill performance and want the flexibility to use multiple boot norms. Ideal for freeriders and big-mountain athletes who ski hard and want their gear to do the same.

Highlights:

Built around a DIN range of 7–16, the Strive 16 MN offers serious retention for aggressive skiing. The wide AFD and oversized toe pedestal provide increased power transfer and edge control, especially useful on wider skis. Its LDN (Low-Profile) Toe brings you closer to the snow for enhanced terrain feel and balance, and the MultiNorm compatibility means it works with Alpine, GripWalk, and even some Touring boot soles. Despite its tough demeanor, the binding comes in at a surprisingly light weight, helping to reduce swing weight and maintain a nimble feel underfoot.

Things to consider:

This isn’t a touring binding. While it accepts multiple boot soles, it has no uphill function, so it’s best paired with skis that are staying inbounds or only doing short bootpacks. If you need tech compatibility or a true hybrid setup, look elsewhere for something with touring capabilities like a Shift, Duke PT, or Kingpin.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Brake widths are available to match most freeride skis. Be sure to size brakes appropriately to avoid interference or drag on the snow.
