What is Artificial Pupa Cell?

1. Artifical pupa cell is handmade and customized based on each pupa's size on floral foam blocks. Before usage, it is soaked in water in order to provide proper humidity for your pupa cell. Each pupa is different in size, artificial pupa cells should be cusomized for each pupa for maximum effectiveness. 

2. Ideally, we do not want to disturb beetle pupa in its naturally made cell. The cells they make are generally perfect for themselves with the following exceptions:

• The cell fully or partially collapased due to flake soil drying out or flake soil decayed.
• The natural pupa cell is too dry or too wet.
• Your larvae made pupa cell at the bottom of the container. The plastic bottom is generally very slippery and can potentially cause your newly metamorphosised beetle to not able to turn properly and dry out the wings. This can even casue death. 

3. There are also other reasons why you may need to house your pupa or larva in artificial pupa cell: 

• Your larva transformed into pupa on the surface of flake soil. (In this case, you MUST give it an artificial pupa cell)
• Your larvae is in pre-pupa form and you accidently or purposedly dig it out. Larvae in pre-pupa form will not be able to make a natural pupa cell for themselves again.
• Your larvae is too weak to make a natural cell for themselves. 

Instructions for Buying: 

Info: Each pupa is different in size, artificial pupa cells should be cusomized for each pupa for maximum effectiveness. While it is important to have custom made artificial pupa cell for your pupa, we also offer artificial cells made for certain species to accomodate for emergency situation. You can certainly put your pupa in these cells for at least a few days as long as it fits in the cell. The size of the artificial pupa cell also does not need to be absolutely perfect in order for your pupa to have a perfect metamorphism.
