Flat washers are a thin, flat, circular stamping with a centrally located hole, made from grade 360 Solid Brass. Designed for use with brass screws and nuts in general applications where parts are subject to corrosion. These general purpose commercial standard flat washers are positioned under a nut, head of a screw, or head of a bolt in order to provide a smooth bearing surface and evenly distribute the fastener load over a wider area.

• Flat washers offer a bolt or screw a wider bearing surface that will disperse the load weight to a greater surface area and ensure that the nut or bolt is pressed up against a smooth surface reducing the chances the fastener loosening over time because of contact with an uneven surface as well as keeping a fastener from pulling through a hole that is larger than the diameter of the head.
